Today, we caught up with Craig — one of our longest-standing team members, who’s been with us almost since day one. As a key member of our operations team, Craig has been a tremendous asset, playing an integral role in shaping Tokamak into the company it is today.

What is your role and key responsibilities at Tokamak?

Transport Manager.

How did you get started in the logistics industry?

I started as a dispatcher 3 years ago after leaving Sainsbury's looking for something new.

On The Job

What's the most challenging aspect of your job and how do you manage it?

Keeping workloads balanced for our trucks and ensuring work is strategically allocated to maintain expectations of all stakeholders ie drivers, office and customers.

What do you enjoy most about working in the transport office?

The atmosphere and the puzzle of keeping all of the trucks moving.

Can you share a moment where you really felt proud of your team or your work?

Passing my Transport Manager CPC first time.

Team & Culture

How would you describe the team culture in the transport office?

Really good, we all work well together and have a fun time even though at times the work can be stressful.

How would you describe the company ethos?

To always enjoy what we do and do it well.

How do you and the driving team stay connected?

Constant communication back and forth. Drivers won't always see the bigger picture, and sometimes we don't see the smaller picture of what's important to them.
